something that puzzle me is why you don't use AS3 ? is it a need ? like you have to target flash player 8 and so you can only use AS2 ? did you tried things like: - Flex SDK (asc, mxmlc, compc, etc.) - Flex Builder - FDT + Eclipse etc.. all these work on Ubuntu zwetan
