Hi guys.
I write you cause I just discovered that you... exist. Thanks to google.
I am an italian web developer, and after two years of employee work I
resigned to work as a free professionist.
I'm about to start a huge flash project, my objective is to create a
mysql-to-flash package of tools in the mysql-php-ajax-http_get-flash way.
The target, ambitious, is to ease the beginning of a new era in the web
allowing people to convert "old" famous-platforms-created websites in
more modern flash websites.
Of course, the project will focus only one or two platforms, like
wordpress and joomla, but in the future I think it will grow up.
I will abstract the actionscript libs to work with any platform, just
teaching the platform to generate compatible xml files.
My only doubts are on the fact that flash is not open source, but your
website gave me some doubts about that.
Is there any way to "compile" a flash application with other (and free)
software than adobe flash?
For what I saw in these years, flash is a very nice platform to unleash
a web-designer's creativity, but it haves some leaks... and the price is
one of them.
I also write this mail to ask to get a little started, cause your wiki
contains a lot of different projects and, even if I'm still looking at
them, I prefer to ask before starting something that someone else have
already started.
I also want to say that my idea was already implemented by some people
and also, in part, published in it's code. Infact, copying and pasting
(and without knowing anything of flash) I already managed to see my
wordpress blog with a flash front-end.
The problem is that the code is crap, and it misses a strong and
object-oriented library to be created, also to lighten the load on the
database server.
Thank you in advance for any answer,
Alvise Nicoletti
p.s. I'm also interested in having the source of a flash application to
create a multiplayer game (or at least a chat) for the visitors of a
website.
