I cannot exclude it, but it happened to me only using PV3D.
I made my homepage loader in PV3D. well, it was a bit CPU intensive, but it
happened also using a rotating cube. It also freezed flash cs3 IDE when
compiling by ctrl+enter. Explorer and firefox were ok.
It also happened when watching on Opera some example posted in this NG...
After some time it all fixed by itself, so i thought it was a particular
PV3D version that made the trouble.
So if this one is compiled using an old PV3D version my idea was right,
while if it is not maybe there is a problem.
What to say? I don't know.
