Hello guys!
First let me say that all your work is mighty impressive and I follow
the progress with great interest!
My company is planning to create (convert) our current static bitmap
avatar system to a 3d technology.
First off we looked at a shockwave application, but I am getting more
and more interested in the PV3D engine. :-)
My question is; is it possible to load a basic 3d model (a avatar human
model), and add custom 3d models to that, lets say a shirt or a haircut?
And I'm guessing that it could be possible to load the textures at
runtime from a configuration file/web service?
Does it mather what formats the models are in? collada, ase, 3ds, etc?
Would it be feasable to have these low polygon avatars in a high traffic
website? 60-80.000 unique visitors per day.
Would it be possible to have custom animations, and load and apply them
at runtime for different avatar models?
Lots of questions :-)
Thanks a bunch in advance!
/Robert Pohl
