I thinks that Adobe needs a 3d world as soon as possible. For example i dont know that WPF have 3d dimesion. You can see that here (lasts posts):

PV3D will be Adobe official class one day?

Very exciting, Carlos! And to think that not only Photoshop CS3 allows 3D painting, but also PV3D is making its way to Photoshop CS3, I'm glad I was born in this era. hahaha. All this time I've been a bit let down by Maya 3d paint tool, but the patience will finally pay off.

    Cheers,
    Anthony

      Hi,

The new version of Photoshop CS3 announced today allows you to "edit existing textures on 3D models directly within Photoshop Extended and immediately see the results. Photoshop Extended supports common 3D interchange formats, including 3DS, OBJ, U3D, KMZ, and COLLADA, so you can import, view, and interact with most 3D models."

In other words, it allows you to load and display a Collada scene, including basic manipulation of objects and camera, edit the textures of the models and see the results directly. Only texture editing seems to be currently supported.

You can load that scene back into Papervision3D, and it should work just fine. With the latest revision, textures will be automatically loaded like in Photoshop. This is part of the workflow we've been talking about recently.

Next step would be to integrate native PV3D tools inside Photoshop. This would allow designers to preview their models in the same way they are going to appear in Flash and we could also add specific functionality. There're already a few third-party 3D plugins planned, it shouldn't be very difficult to get to grips with the SDK and use our own tools there.

      Very exciting, isn't it?
