[Papervision3D] Papervision3D and Flash 10

Hi everybody,

Just to clear the confusion created by Lee Brimelow's post
(http://theflashblog.com/?p=286), the announced "3D" capabilities of
Flash 10 are merely the option to distort a bitmap with perspective,
like you do in Photoshop or DistortImage.

As this has absolutely nothing to do with a 3D engine, it won't replace
Papervision3D. In fact, it actually will provide us with faster and
better tools to create "Real 3D".

His original post has been cheekily edited, and while some of the
bullshit has been removed, it still contains false information.

On a later post he interviews Flash Player Senior Product Manager Justin
Everett-Church, that fortunately clears his embarrassing confusion
(http://theflashblog.com/?p=287).

It's a shame that someone that's supposed to be "focused on helping the
Flash community thrive", is doing such a poor job. It's obvious that he
doesn't know what a 3D engine is and it certainly hurts his credibility
in the eyes of this community.

And if you are in MAX Chicago and want to see 3D happening now in Flash,
best you can do is come to John's presentation this afternoon (W-190A,
3.00pm) and mine just before (W-178A, 1.45pm).

Thanks,

C4
