[Papervision3D] Stability of Papervision3d

Will there be any documentation on transitioning older projects onto the new
version? Things that would need to be changed so that functionality would
remain the same? If so, is anyone working on this or is it expected to be
released soon?
Thanks for your reply,
Kevin

There will be no further api / setting changes on the current version in the
trunk. Next to bug fixing and documentation, no real changes should be
expect before 2.0.1.
Issues and bugs can be reported through the issuelist on google code.

Ralph.

I'm extremely concerned with the stability of Papervision and hope that my
concerns will be addressed.
I started a project in Papervision about 3 weeks ago, using online resources
and tutorials to familiarize myself with the library and get a handle on how
to achieve specific goals. About a week ago, as I was finishing the last
aspect of the project, I began to have issues that I didn't foresee with
event handling on objects.
I jump online and read on the forums that using the Great White Trunk is the
way to go, so I backup what I have, and start to use the latest build. That
causes all kinds of issues because FreeCamera3D is gone. So I read up on the
changes (as best I can find) and change it over to Camera3d with no target.
That gets the project to build, but now the camera doesn't function
correctly. I rework my positioning and get it back to partial working order
only to find that my event handling is still buggy.
I read up that the new method of using BasicView is strongly suggested, so I
backup my stuff again and implement BasicView. This screws up my camera
positioning again and still, event handling isn't working as expected.
I've emailed the forum my issues without a response a couple times and can't
seem to find any useful documentation about anything relevant to my issues.
is Papervision going to be truly stable anytime soon? Don't get me wrong, I
sincerely appreciate what the developers of the library have accomplished,
but I don't want to keep banging my head against the wall to achieve, what
should be, a simple effect.
Sincerely,
Kevin Aebig
