[Papervision3D] Viewport masking, Collada face masking? Is this possible

Hello,

 

I'm little stuck on how best to approach this problem.

 

I have a Collada object, which is a box with a light bulb inside that
animates out. 

All I want visible is the opening of the box so you can see inside it.

I don't want to see the external faces of the box. 

 

You would be able to see more of the light bulb, and inside face of the
box, as the angle of the object changes to face the camera.

 

I suppose the top part of the box works as a viewport to the innards.
I've attached an image to explain it better:

 

Given that I'm using an animated 3D Collada object; which contains the
box and light bulb - is this possible?

 

Is there a special technique I need to employ at the 3D model building
stage, or

Can I mask the external parts of the box and the innards they cover, or

Is the solution to the problem some kind of custom dynamic ViewPort -
and if so, how complex is this?
