[Papervision3D] collada vs. *.3DS file format PERFORMANCE ???

I ran a quick test with a 57 Chevy station wagon model I created last week
(while I was stuck in bed, recovering from surgery). The model has a
polycount of about 1000. I exported in Both Collada and *.3DS format. As I
said before, the 3DS model was significantly smaller.

When imported into flash with no materials, both formats performed about the
same. They both created SWFs of approx 200KB and they both ran at about 14
FPS. There was not a noticeable difference between formats. Keep in mind
that this is only a wireframe model. I am having a lot of trouble accessing
the materials in the 3DS model, so I haven't been able to run a comparison
of a skinned model yet. I'll keep you posted if I can get it to work.
