Hey all, I was supposed to send this out Monday, but as you can
guess/relate, I immediately got busy blah blah blah.

We had originally slated v.5 for late June, but as we were running through
the field that is red5, we ran into some brick walls common referred to as
"Life". Be that as it may, the developers have been smoking up the
refactoring of the streaming code and after some initial tests with the
video conf demo, we're amazed at the performance we're seeing in very little
lag.

>From Thailand yesterday, Luke and 2 cams going, Joachim in Germany had one
and I had one in the states and the response was awesome! I'll be putting
audio back into the video conf demo to see how we're doing with audio and
let you guys know what we find. This new version includes bandwith control
(I'll let Steven/Luke/Joachim speak on that).

Anyway, instead of delaying .5 release, we've decided to do some release
candidates for testing since we know these updates are very significant for
many of us looking to use Red5 in production asap. Of course, take this
with the customary: "it's still in Alpha, we don't recommend you build
anything in production mode yet and we still don't know how fast it is or
how much it'll handle etc etc etc and so on and so forth".

However, in saying this, we hope to get stress tests underway and we'll
definitely keep everyone in the loop about all of that.

have a bandit day.
